Market Metrics Inc. is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada’s national capital and fourth-largest city.

Ottawa is situated in the Eastern Time Zone in the eastern portion of the province of Ontario (Canada’s largest province), mid-way between Canada’s two largest cities: Toronto (1 hour by plane, 4 hours by car) and Montreal (45 minutes by plane, 2 hours by car). Within this triangle are the cities of Belleville, Brockville, Cornwall, Kingston, and Peterborough.

Our location also provides good access to the United States’ eastern seaboard. Within 2 hours by car are the states of New York and Vermont, across the United States border (a valid passsport — but no visa — is required for Canadian and American citizens to cross the border). Boston is 8.5 hours away by car, and New York City is about 10 hours. Both can be easily reached by short flights from Ottawa’s international airport.

As of November 2011, Ottawa had 1,944 knowledge-based businesses spread across several sectors, almost double the number in 2000 when technology employment was at an all-time high (source: Invest Ottawa). About two-thirds of these are within a twenty-minute drive from our office. Notable among these are several global companies including Alcatel-Lucent’s triple-play laboratory, Cisco’s Canadian R&D facility, Huawei’s Canadian headquarters, Mitel’s world headquarters and Nortel’s former global R&D campus that is now occupied┬áby the acquirers of Nortel’s business units, and leading semiconductor firms┬ásuch as Mosaid, IDT, Zarlink and SiGe.

Greg is a Certified Management Consultant, a member of the American Marketing Association, and holds MBA/BEE degrees as well as a Certificate in Strategic Management. He frequently performs consulting engagements on behalf of the Government of Canada's Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP). Prior to Market Metrics, Greg's 21 years of corporate experience encompassed tech start-ups through Fortune 500 companies.
